Habanero orange

This variety can be traced back to the Yucatan region of Mexico. Even though the name "Habanero" actually means "from Havana", they are only found sporadically in Cuba. The red relatives mostly come from the Caribbean or the southern states of the USA.

Characteristics

The thin-walled, round and wrinkled "Habanero orange" are reminiscent of mini peppers in shape. However, they are approximately 50 times hotter than jalapeños. They ripen from light green to orange and have a high yield of medium-sized orange fruits.

Its aroma is described as very intensely fruity. In the kitchen, these fruits are a must for every salsa. They also harmonize particularly well with tropical fruits.
